Shoalhaven Mini Trots Off To A Flying Start

On Sunday the 8th of October Shoalhaven Mini Trots commenced their season with an exciting day of racing. The day consisted of two divisions each having 5 races. This season the two new comers Shaye Phillips and Nash Coney commenced their career in mini trotting with a bang both scoring a winner on their ponies Honeycombe and Littlemisslily.

The other 8 returning drivers remembered what it felt like to taste success each placing on more than one occasion. The handicapper on the day did a great job making each race a close and exciting finish. The Dapto trained ponies All That Jazz, Firestorm, Stella Frost, Sweet as Honey and Incoming Storm made the trip worth it for drivers Benjamin Swan and the three Haslam kids Sam, Matt and Mia.

The locally trained ponies driven by Jasmine and Erin Evans had a at home advantage on the day steering four ponies to success. Jasmine took the drives on Apatchie Wind and Missalted Spirits whilst her younger sister Erin drove some great races on Arnie Hest and Be Good Boris. Morgan Coney commenced her season stepping up to take the drives on the larger pony Charlie Rose whilst her older brother Jye Howard-Coney stepped up to drive the fast finishing Secret Mission also taking to the track with Bullet Proof. All the kids and ponies had a terrific day of racing and we all look forward to our next gymkhana which will be held on the 22nd of October.
