Newcastle Paceway was the venue for Newcastle Maitland Mini Trotting Club first registered race meeting for 2016/17 Season.13 ponies participated in what was a proved to be an exciting nights racing.
First event had the judges working overtime and in the end they were unable to split Chase em Ace driven by Josh Cassar and Ashton aboard Smokey Bear with a dead heat being declared. Major Jiba (Amity Cassar) finished strongly running 3rd. Gracie Brislane finished just behind the placegetters after leading early. Mia Mc Millan having her first registered drive was excited and drove capably.

Here are some photos of the events from yesterday (October 1, 2016) event of Newcastle Maitland Mini Trotting club. More photos will be collated from different sources and will be uploaded into New South Wales Mini Trotting Association website and facebook accounts.
Little Squirt came with a well-timed run for Harrison Wiggins to take the second event on the programme to defeat Chase em Ace ( Josh Cassar) and one of the back markers Sexyniknowit making good ground for Zac Carroll. Tamworth Trainer/Driver Jack Chapple finished midfield on Egyptian Lady who improves every run.
Final event was success for Grace Campbell driven Double O Seven circling the field for a convincing win over the consistent Chase em Ace with Little Squirt filling third. Fatboy Rastas continue his improving for for Lily Brilane and look for a win soon.
Early in the season but look for improved runs from Little Lucy (Clare Carroll) Zoomin Zac (Isabella Cassar) and Your Kiddin Me Rowan Wiggins) in coming weeks.
Pointscore winner on the night was Josh Cassar and Chase em Ace from Harrison Wiggins driven Little Squirt and Amity/Isabella Cassar pony Major Jiba taking out third for the strong Team Cassar.
