New South Wales Mini Trotting Association (NSWMTA) once again held its biggest annual event for the kids, the CHAMPIONSHIPS 2019, at Paceway Tamworth last 20-21 April 2019.


This year saw the 35th running of the NSW Mini Trots  Championships 2019, which recorded 153 ponies and attended by 119 registered drivers from different affiliated clubs in New South Wales, as well as from Victoria (Pony Trots Victoria), Queensland (Queensland Mini Trots Sporting Association & Queensland Junior Harness Racing Association), and from New Zealand.

On 15th of December, representatives of New South Wales Mini Trotting Association (NSW MTA) dominated the Mini Trots Inter Dominion 2018 (ID18) held at Tabcorp Park Melton in the state of Victoria, winning in Midget/Miniature, Shetland, and Ponies divisions. 

Congratulations to the NSW Mini Trots members for placing 1st on their respective division.

Mini Trots are mini versions of harness racing sports, and are operating in different states in Australia - Queensland Mini Trotting Sporting Association, Victoria Mini Trotting, and New South Wales Mini Trotting Association. Mini Trots aims to develop interest in harness racing sports at an early age.

Mini Trots will also compete and race during the Inter Dominion Finals on December 15, 2018.

The 2018 Miracle Mile saw competitors from all over. As far away as Queensland down to Victoria.

The night started off with the midget section. 1st place was taken out by last years championship winner Chesters Lad driven by Charlie Harris. Young Mia McMillan and her pony Midnight Express crossed the line in 2nd position with Chas Em Ace with Isabella Cassar taking out the 3rd position. Congratulations to the rest of the drivers Milla Sutton, Angus Garrard, Jessica Niass, Jacob Berry, Zac Wiggins, Sam Haslam and Phoebe Betts they all drove a great close race.

Every year the Shoalhaven Mini Trots attend the local shows in the area. Bowral show was first on the list at the famous Bong Bong Picnic race track. Eight races were held on the day with every member and their pony having a win. 

Saturday night the club ventured to Kiama Show and entertained the crowd with some great racing. Our 2 back markers Secret Mission  with young Jye on board and Incoming Storm with Ben both earned themselves a win with some impressive driving . Apatchie Wind and Stella Frost got a little excited but their drivers Matt and Jasmine quickly got them back to a trot with both of them earning a win each.

Great Start to New Year for Mini Trotters 2018 is off to a fabulous start for Leeton Mini Trotting Club with a record 19 ponies in town to contest the Leeton Mini Carnival of Cups, much to the delight of LMTC committee. Families travelled from neighbouring Albury and Riverina Clubs for the New Year’s Night races. Harness Racing NSW later provided trophies to all contestants as a sign of their support.

While not quite the horsepower that was on display up the road at the Supercars event the action was just as exciting at Newcastle Paceway with two feature events.

Firstly a point score was held to determine the winner of Dimarco Harness Racing supported event. Newly appointed HRNSW board member Marissa Dimarco represented the stable. A deadlock in points resulted however Harry McNamarra driving Cariadus Material Girl was declared the winner on count back from Rowan Wiggins who recorded his first registered win on Rushin Gold. Improving Olivia Vujkovic finished close behind in third place with Starstrider.

Tamworth Club travelled to Inverell on Sunday 19th of November we had 7 mini trot children. Reba Brown daughter of Dwayne and Tanya had her first official race drive after turning 5 so it was a busy few days getting her trials in for her to race as she's been keen for so long and counting down the days until her birthday so she could race. Reba drove her own Pony Amaizy. We also had another new member race for the first time Jarvis Munsie son of Dave and Tammy. Jarvis raced a tamworth pony named snowgood which is on lend to him from the Varga family. So a special thanks to the Varga family.
